After years of
owning and operating the 'Country Vine Patch' in
Mildura, patchwork and quilting are still a passion for
me, along with many other things. I still keep a range
of fabrics and fat quarters from my stash, and still
love to introduce and help others to grow in this
wonderful craft. I love to make quilts for my family, family,
and friends : all
have a little bit of history wrapped up in lovely
quilts.
I love the traditional styles of patchwork, but enjoy to experiment with contemporary
techniques such as curved piecing, and incorporating
innovative embellishments and embroidery both hand and
machine.
Years of experience in retailing sewing machines have
come in very handy in teaching, knowing how to make the
machines dance to my tune, even the overlocker!
I have been a collector of all kinds of fabric for
many years. Patchwork fabric, 70s fabric, old jeans, old
bags, old hand knits: you name it. This has led me
into many shops for the sale of preloved goods, and much
treasure has been unearthed. Felting, cutting,
embroidering and combining of all sorts of found
goodies, has resulted in the creation of some wonderful
re-creations, along with the satisfaction of recycling
items that are still useful.
